Glass Pool Fence Gates and Accessories

Ordering a glass gate can be one of the most confusing steps when ordering your pool fencing. If you have a basic understanding of the hinges and latches that are available, this will help you decide on the position and configuration of the gate(s).

One of the most important things to note about installing a glass gate is the gaps that you will need to allow for when using different hinges and latches. Both the gap between the hinge and latch sides will change depending on your configuration.

It is important when designing and installing a glass pool fence to remember that the gate must swing away from the pool. This is a requirement by law and your fence will not pass if it swings inwards.

Gate Panels

We have 3 pre-drilled gate sizes available. 750mm, 834mm and 890mm. All gates are 8mm thick and 1200mm high. Our gate panels are pre-drilled with 6 x 10mm holes that are used to fix the latch and hinges to.

Hinge Panels

We have 8 pre-drilled hinge panels available. Ranging in width from 1000mm to 1800mm wide. All Hinges panels are 12mm thick and 1200mm high. Our Hinge Panels are pre-drilled with 4 x 14mm holes to fix the hinge to.

Note: Hinge panels are only required for glass to glass hinged gates.

Latches

We have latches available for:

• Glass Gate to Glass Panel Inline
• Glass Gate to Glass Panel 90 Degree Internal Corner
• Glass Gate to Glass Panel 90 Degree External Corner
• Glass Gate to Wall/Square Post
• Glass Gate to Round Post

Note: For most of our latches only the glass gate will require pre-drilled holes. When the non gate side is also attaching to glass it is friction fixed with 2 grub screws.

Hinges

We have hinges available for:

• Glass Gate to Glass Panel
• Glass Gate to Wall/Square Post
• Glass Gate to Round Post

Note: When using glass to glass, both the hinge panel and gate panel will require holes.

What is required to install a glass pool fence gate?

When broken down, there are 4 items that you will need to order:

• 1 x Gate Panel
• 1 x Hinge Panel (only needed if hinging from glass to glass)
• 1 x Latch
• 1 x Hinge Set

Note that you will need pre-drilled glass panels to install a gate. Glass can not be drilled after it has been toughened.
